Both authors state the same facts, the most important being that diamond patterns are very rare. Another point they both make is that diamond patterns occur at tops, not bottoms. The pattern is essentially a sort of triangle and as we all know, a head-and-shoulders pattern is a form of a triangle as well. So we put this pattern in the category of reversal patterns.
